Team Member Engagement

Having an engaged workforce is critical to the continued success of the Clemens Food Group. Every 2 years our Team Member Engagement Survey is conducted, which gives us the opportunity to get feedback from all team members and help us understand how we are doing as a company: what we are doing well, and in which areas we have to do better.

The survey results are compiled for individual areas within the company, and the results are shared with the leaders of the areas, with action plans put into place on how to improve on areas of opportunity identified in the survey results.

As a result of action items being put into place to improve engagement, we have seen continued improvement in team member engagement since the survey was started in 2009. Completing the survey is voluntary, and with a 24% return rate in 2009, we saw a lot of team members hesitant to take the time to give honest feedback. However, with visible action plans put into place as a result of the survey results, team members have become much more willing to complete the survey, as they know their opinions are valued and taken seriously.




 

Focus groups are held on a regular basis in between the Bi-Annual Engagement Survey to continue to gather feedback and keep a pulse on team member morale and engagement.
